I've been in indon for almost 3 weeks now..it's pretty tiresome, doing the same things, going to the same places, 56k internet, and the absolute worst of all, having no friends that live here :( ! Sigh, the internet's not even 56k, it flunctuates between 36k-46.6k, depending on its temperament. I just got back from the gym, worked out quite a bit hehe; Target: 48kg ! rawr !
Afterwards, I went to Mango to hunt for a black halter top on 50% that caught my eye last week. Thing is, last week I tried size XS and it didn't fit well (too tight T_T durrr ). I didn't have much time, so I left without trying size S. So today I went back, my eyes looking out for it in the whole biggie store. Now people, next time if you ever see something you like on sale, NEVER, EVER EVAR LEAVE IT !! You'll find them gone the next time you visit, which was what happened to me. I looked through literally every piece of clothing in that store today thrice, and I didn't manage to find it, which means it's gone,.. forever. ;_; huhuhuhu......
Actually, I planned to play House of the Dead 4 in the arcade today, but cancelled it due to time restrictions. It's so awesome, they only charge S$0.65 ($0.43) for each game. It'll be a good chance to practice. I wanna go back to sg soon hur TT, probably for the last time this year. But before that I'm forced by my parents to learn driving till I can at least drive on the road without getting into any accident, major or minor LOL. With incessant streams of motorcyclists slipping through the smallest of gaps from both sides of your car, ignorant pedestrians crossing the road as and when they feel like, and drivers turning into the main road without looking out for incoming cars (like me, me !! I'm one of those incoming cars on the main road. I have to look out for them instead..Hello?), your driving skill must be almost exemplary to eschew trivial accidents while driving in a relaxed manner. I'm really skeptical in achieving that within 2 weeks? I wonder if they're even getting me a car there, prob not if I end up in nyc. But if I do, I'll probably get a small one for easy parking. A pink beetle would be super cute (but so exp) ! Celica is pretty good too, but it's a little too flashy for my liking. Oh well, in the end, any car would do really, since I'm not into cars at all. I just want one for convenience's sake, don't wanna spend too much of parents' hard earned money on that, college is there for that purpose haha. I'll get a really good one when I start making my own money in the near future and make it rich :P. Speaking of cars, car prices in usa and sg are soooo different. For example, mx-5 in sg is S$103000 ($67665), while it's only about S$35 010 ($23000) in us o_O. Same case for VW Beetle, S$112,500($73906) in sg, S$35490 ($23315) in us!! Basically, that means you get 3 cars in us for every car you buy in sg =o.
The broad disparity in prices is not only evident in cars, but also in clothing. Shi and I had a discussion recently about clothing cost in sg and us, and it really amazed me how contrastive they are. For example, Gap, Levis, and Tommy Hilfiger are, what, $20-50 (S$30-75) there? While in sg, they average at $50-100 (S$75-150). Especially TH, where each top (cept tank tops and tshirts) averages around S$100-200. Hell yeah I'm so gonna love shopping even more.

Moving on, it is now of common practice for companies to Google you when you apply to work for them. A potential employee can be Googled before he is given a chance to get a mere interview. Yes, they type your full name in the search field and scrutinize 11 pages of it. Or, if you're not-so-famous (like me), they just read through whatever that appears on the list. According to to the article (Harvard Business Review, June '07, 'We Googled You'), it's fully legit for companies to Google their job candidates. "An issue only arises if you unlawfully discriminate against someone because of what you find". What they meant by 'unlawfully discriminate', sadly, wasn't mentioned. So peeps, be more careful with your online profile (blog, etc)- make sure it wouldn't give your prospective employers any reason to discredit you. In fact, you can even tweak it a little to forge the opposite effect. ;)
Finishing off, our 6-month anniversary is coming up this sunday! I'm so looking forward to it (: .
