The joys of shopping
Enough with complaining about the internet ! I FINALLY found that black halter top in mango, and tried it. Nope, it didn't fit (sadly), but I'm content now. It's a totally different (better) feeling from knowing that that item exists somewhere, yet you don't have a chance to get it due to it being out of stock/ not available at the stores around you. Moreover, this time, I got 2 skirts there ! Both are of the same style, just different in color and size (hence length, too). Best of all, I got it at like 30+% of its original price, wheee ! I loveee sales (actually, don't know anyone who doesn't)! Whenever I see a sale, especially when it's my fav brands, I'll get this sudden jolt of adrenaline, which pushes me to walk into the store and look through every piece of clothing in it, hoping to find one item on sale that I like. It's one of the many joys of shopping, to hunt for that treasure in the midst of junk. Plus, if you get it when it's on sale, you're actually saving money, since you got what you like at a lower price than what it's originally worth. When that happens, I'll be cheery for the whole day, satisfied with my hunt, which I worked really hard for (looking through each article in the whole store/mall, if it's a huge sale festival).
Shopping has always been a predominantly female hobby. This is perhaps stereotyping, but when a guy wants something (e.g. shoes), he would go directly to a shoe store, perhaps several, till he sees one that he likes, and then he'll get it. A lady, however, wouldn't purchase the item right away. She (I) would usually explore all the shoe stores nearby, even visiting the stores that she already gone to again, and after looking through all the presented choices repeatedly, she would finally make up her mind and get it. Between that, she'll also get tops, skirts, make up, etc, or at least window shopped for other things. While this is tedious and energy-draining, it's inevitable, for it's the only way to ensure that you got the best. Well of course this doesn't apply if you're paris hilton, since you get to buy everything in that store and give away those that you don't particularly like when you're home :P.
Another joy of shopping is trying clothes. This is when you've found some items to try, and then you walk into the changing room, closed the curtains, placed your bags and removed your clothes, and then looked at the pile of items waiting to be tried on, hoping that you'll find something good. You try them on, one by one, disappointed/not too satisfied with how they look...and then suddenly, you found it: the item. You'll know it when you find it. Your reflection shines in the mirror, your skin glows, your physique suddenly more beautiful. You smile to yourself, knowing fully well that you've succeeded, and you're about to take your prized hunt home, yours. You came, you saw, you conquered. Okay that was cheesy.
Hence, shopping is a throughly enjoyable activity. Sure, at the end of the day, you would get sore feet and even blisters. But it's completely worth it, even if you didn't manage to get anything, because hey, 5 hours of non-stop walking is a significant amount of calories burned ! ^^V. Can't wait to shop again! Shopping in indon is such a bore cos everything's outdated and overpriced. For example. I bought this top like a year ago in sg, then I just saw it in indon at full price. doh.
And elsa I did the thing ! Here it is:
